With over 3 decades of experience as a practicing architect, Kent Rawson has earned a reputation for creating distinctive, refined designs that are sensitive to both their manmade context and the natural environment. Over the past several years he has focused on custom residential projects in urban and rural settings throughout southern Ontario. He has worked extensively in the Caledon/Hockley Valley/Mulmur areas, as well as Muskoka, Georgian Bay and Haliburton. Projects have included new homes as well as numerous renovations and additions.

We consider ourselves fortunate to have had Kent Rawson as the architect for the renovation on our house and we highly recommend him . Kent brought many critical skills to the project. Firstly, Kent took a realistic approach to our renovation, listening to what we wanted to ensure the changes supported our needs and how our family functions within our home. From a design standpoint, Kent is a master at identifying appropriate scale, function and period in his drawings and he paid particular attention to blend the addition to the style of our house and also to the neighbourhood. In addition to the wonderful design aspects of the project, we found Kent to be flexible and collaborative, and upon their first meetings, worked very well with the builder and interior designer. Kent was always available throughout the renovation to answer questions or to provide guidance and drawings for the unexpected issues that arose. We are thrilled with our home and highly recommend Kent Rawson.

We worked with Kent Rawson on two separate projects and both went very well. The design concepts for the two projects were very different, but responded to the unique parameters of each project. Kent looked after permitting details and helped make sure there were no holdups in obtaining the necessary approvals. Working with KRA was an absolute pleasure. His firm navigated 3 levels of environmental protection with ease TRCA, ORM and the Niagara escarpment. KRA also handled numerous complications with the town of Caledon with grace and sophistication through no fault of his own. The permit we applied for was only granted to 1 of 47 applicants and because of Kent’s tenacity we were able to achieve our goals on time and on budget. His drawings are well thought out and he was able to make a list of ideas into reality while working with multiple restrictions. This is the 3rd home I have constructed and KRA’s attention to detail was second to none! KRA went above and beyond our expectations and we give him our highest recommendation!
